The SalesGit Story: Why We Built a Platform for Owners, Agents, and Affiliates
September 4, 2026·1 min read

Most online store builders are built around one assumption: you make something, and you want to sell it. That's true for a lot of businesses. It's not true for the agent reselling a supplier's products under their own name, or the affiliate who's never touched inventory but has an audience that trusts their recommendation.
Three ways to sell, one platform
SalesGit launched with three roles built in from day one, not bolted on later: an Owner lists and sells what they make. An Agent curates resale-eligible products from owners and sells under their own store, with their own markup. An Affiliate sells with nothing but a tracked link and a commission rate.
That's not three products — it's one platform that reflects how selling actually works in a market where most people don't manufacture anything, they move things other people made, often alongside a day job.
What we got right early, and what we're still building
We launched free, with no card required, because the businesses that need this most are the ones who can't afford to gamble a deposit on a tool they haven't tested. Since then the biggest lesson has been simple: sellers don't want more features, they want fewer blockers between 'I have something to sell' and 'a stranger just paid me for it.'
Every release since has been judged against that line.
